MEP Dual Channel Rectal Sensor
MEP Dual Channel Rectal Sensor
SKU: PMC-4520The MEP sensor monitors the EMG activity of the levator ani muscle, including simultaneous measurements of the proximal and distal bundles of the external anal sphincter (EAS). The deep measurements of the EAS makes the MEP uniquely suited for post-prostatectomy pelvic muscle rehab, since it allows training to be specifically directed to improving tonic support of the bladder neck.

The MEP dual channel sEMG sensor monitors the EMG activity of the levator ani muscle, including simultaneous measurements of the proximal and distal bundles of the external anal sphincter (EAS). The deep measurements of the EAS makes the MEP uniquely suited for post-prostatectomy pelvic muscle rehab, since it allows training to be specifically directed to improving tonic support of the bladder neck.
The MEP sensor combined with the MEP adapter is the only rectal sensor on the market today that has the ability to record two channels of sEMG from a single sensor. Its size and shape make the sensor easy for both clinician and patient alike to use in the clinical setting.
The sensor and adapter was developed in part by Janet Tries who specializes in the behavioral and rehabilitation treatment of bowel disorders and offers a course at Marquette University each year for clinicians who wish to treat this population.
The sensor can be used with most sEMG instruments on the US market including Pathway, SRS & Thought Technologies sEMG biofeedback systems.
