Where does Aloe Vera Come From?

The Aloe Vera plant comes from the dry regions of Asia, Africa, Europe, some parts of India and America. The plant’s leaves are long thick triangular leaves with serrated edges.

There are three layers that make up each leaf of the plant. The first layer is a clear gel that contains 99% water and the remainder is glucomannans, amino acids, lipids, sterols, and vitamins. The next layer is made of a bitter yellow sap that contains anthraquinones and glycosides. The final, outermost layer contains cells called rind which have a protective function and combines carbohydrates and proteins.

All and all Aloe Vera contains up to potentially 75 active constituents: vitamins, Enzymes, minerals, sugars, ignin, saponins, salicylic acids and amino acids.
